Fantasy Football Rankings, Week 11: Defense/Special Teams

Check out our Week 11 Defense/Special Teams rankings before setting your rosters this week.

Jonathan Daniel

The key defensive matchup this week happens on Monday night when the Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers will battle. The 49ers must be excited, as they probably will be facing Jason Campbell and not Jay Cutler. Although, the Bears defense will be looking to keep their team in the race for the number one seed in the NFC. Both these defenses are currently in the top five of actual NFL defenses and top six of fantasy defenses. I think that both teams will look to grind it out with their running games but also take a few shots down field.

The Bears will probably end up allowing twenty points and snag two turnovers. They’ll intercept a pass and recover a forced fumble. Along with sacking the quarterback three times. A pretty good night for the Bears but probably not enough to win the game on the road.

The 49ers didn’t perform as well as they should have coming off of their bye week but did finish the game strong. This week they’ll hold the Bears to thirteen points and intercept at least one pass. The Niners will get very good pressure on the quarterback and will sack him four times.

Let’s take a look at the leaders in defensive touchdowns and fantasy scoring through Week 10:

The Texans are a must start and will dominate the Jaguars from beginning to end. Look for a lot of sacks and at least a couple forced turnovers. Philip Rivers is probably having nightmares about facing the Broncos again, after getting intercepted four times and sacked four times in their first meeting. The Ravens will be another team facing a backup quarterback, which will probably result in a boost for their stats this week. I'd avoid the Eagles and Steelers this week because their quarterbacks could put them in some difficult situations and the offenses they're playing could put up some big points against them.

Here are the defenses that have been sacking the quarterback over the last three weeks:

Denver - 13

Carolina - 11

Seattle - 9

If you play in a league that rewards teams that allow the least amount of points, here are the top five defenses in points allowed over the last three weeks:

1. Houston - 15

2. San Francisco - 27

3. Cleveland - 31

4. Green Bay - 32

5. Baltimore - 35
