The Green Bay Packers say quarterback Aaron Rodgers knows he must try to avoid big hits when making plays outside of the pocket. We break down the fantasy implications.

Coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday (via The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel) that the play helped Rodgers realize that you have to be smart while trying to make a play outside of the pocket. Rodgers said this week on his radio show on ESPN 540 that football was a violent game and that those types of injuries are going to happen. The Packers face the Lions on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact: Rodgers is too important to the Packers and fantasy owners for him to take too many hits outside of the pocket. The Packers have to worry when he tries to make a play and takes a big hit but it doesn’t sound like Rodgers is going to change the way he plays.
All fantasy owners need to worry about this week is getting Rodgers in their lineups. He remains an elite fantasy option at quarterback, especially against a banged-up Detroit secondary.
