Fantasy Football 2012: Kicker Rankings - Week 11
Who will kick you into the playoffs? Find out here!

Kevin C. Cox
Week 11 is here and it’s time again to rank the kickers. I am a believer that past performance is a good indicator of future success with kickers. So, here is the list of the top ten kickers YTD, as ranked by fantasy points per game:
Kicker (TEAM) | Fantasy Points per Game |
Lawrence Tynes (NYG) | 10.9/game |
Stephen Gostkowski (NE)) | 10.3/game |
Matt Bryant (ATL | 10.1/game |
Blair Walsh (MIN) | 9.0/game |
Robbie Gould (CHI) | 8.9/game |
Sebastian Janikowski (OAK) | 8.8/game |
Shaun Suisham (PIT) | 8.8/game |
Justin Tucker (BAL) | 8.7/game |
Jason Hanson (DET) | 8.4/game |
Shayne Graham (HOU) | 8.2/game |
You’ll notice that “everyone’s” #1 kicker in the preseason (David Akers) isn’t even in the Top 10 (he fell to 16th this week). So, once again, please people, stop drafting kickers before your last pick.
Fantasy Points Against is a measure of the average number of fantasy points allowed by an opposing team, year-to-date. Although, I think this stat is most important for running backs and quarterbacks, the ranking of the kicker data may show us which defenses are most susceptible to kicker scoring. Those “bend but don’t break” squads that give up a lot of FG’s. These five teams are allowing the most fantasy points to kickers:
(1) CAR Panthers (10.4)
(2) OAK Raiders (10.2)
(3) TEN Titans (9.9)
(4) KC Chiefs (9.8)
(5) BAL Ravens (9.6)
Here are our Sweet Sixteen rankings:
Rank | Player (TEAM) |
1 | Stephen Gostkowski (NE) |
2 | Sebastian Janikowski (OAK) |
3 | Mason Crosby (GB) |
4 | Matt Bryant (ATL) |
5 | Shayne Graham (HOU) |
6 | Matt Prater (DEN) |
7 | Jason Hanson (DET) |
8 | Mike Nugent (CIN) |
9 | Greg Zuerlein (STL) |
