Alex Smith injury update: In non-contact jersey again, fantasy value in jeopardy
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith practiced in a non-contact jersey on Wednesday. We breakdown the fantasy implications.

On top of that, head coach Jim Harbaugh addressed the media today, and continued to deflect questions about the quarterback situation. He refused to name a starter, saying the team was going to “let it play out.”
Fantasy Analysis: Alex Smith is only one of a few QBs with a 100-plus QB rating this season. He has played very well in 2012, but his season, and potentially career, is in danger. 49ers backup passer Colin Kaepernick exploded against the Bears D on Monday Night Football this week.
Kaepernick actually has a great deal of fantasy value if he plays. But this could once again turn into a game-time decision. Fantasy owners with an unstable QB situation or unfavorable matchup this week, look for Kaepernick, who could still start against the Saints on Sunday.
But if you pick him up, be sure to monitor the 49ers headlines and be prepared to make a game day move.
