Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson has a shot at breaking the record for receiving yards in a season. The record of 1,848 yards in a 16-game season is held by Jerry Rice and Johnson (via Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com) has more yards trough 11 games than Rice did in 1995.
Calvin Johnson has a shot at receiving yards record: Fantasy implications
Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson has a shot at the NFL receiving yards record. We break down the fantasy implications.

Johnson is averaging 114.3 yards a game, and would need to boost his productivity over the final few games in large part because of Rice’s 289-yard effort in Week 15 of the 1995 season. Rice that season had 122 catches and averaged more than 115 yards per game. Johnson, so far, has 73 catches for 1,257 yards.
Fantasy Impact: This would be more meaningful if the Lions were having a better season but fantasy owners certainly can’t complain with the way Johnson has played of late. Johnson had just one touchdown through Detroit’s first eight games but he’s now scored in each of the last three.
Johnson remains the No. 1-rated receiver in fantasy football.
