Colin Kaepernick named the starter in San Francisco: Fantasy Implications
San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh reveal Colin Kaepernick to be the starter for Sunday’s game. We breakdown the fantasy implications.

This will make for Kaepernick’s third straight start since Alex Smith was sidelined with a concussion in Week 10 against the Rams. Harbaugh declared Kaepernick the starter for Week 13 but did not confirm whether or not this would be a week-to-week decision.
But it’s pretty clear at this point that Smith is being phased out.
Fantasy Analysis: In a very short period of time, Kaepernick showed explosiveness and playmaking ability from the QB position that we have not seen from Smith. Considering Kaepernick won the job because of his strong arm and mobility, he’s gained fantasy relevance.
If you have a less than favorable quarterback situation, consider starting Kaepernick against the St. Louis Rams this Sunday. With his playmaking ability and corps of weapons, Kaepernick has a high ceiling for fantasy football.
