Chris Ivory, Pierre Thomas and Mark Ingram split near-equal touches during the New Orleans Saints' win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. Ivory was activated for the first time this season, and was given a larger share of the rushing workload after missing seven games despite no apparent health concerns. Thomas is the Saints’ leading rusher on the season, with 64 carries for 301 yards and one touchdown.
Fantasy Impact: The Saints’ timeshare out of the offensive backfield reared its ugly head in a big way on Monday night. All three backs were productive in their own way, but likely not enough to win many fantasy matchups except for omniscient owners who somehow started Ivory this week.
It’s impossible to tell at this point who, if any of the trio, will take on the lion’s share of the workload in any given week going forward. You’ll want to stay away from all three going forward in most fantasy formats. Don’t expect the Saints to have success running the ball every week.
