Rashard Mendenhall will start for the Pittsburgh Steelers when he's healthy, running backs coach Kirby Wilson told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Mendenhall's status for Monday night's game against the Kansas City Chiefs is still unclear due to an Achilles' injury.
Rashard Mendenhall to start at RB for Steelers when healthy: Fantasy implications
According to Steelers running backs coach Kirby Wilson, Rashard Mendenhall will start at running back when he’s fully healthy. We break down the fantasy implications.

Head coach Mike Tomlin indicated earlier this week that the Steelers would ride the hot hand in the backfield. While that may still be the case, Wilson’s comments indicate that Mendenhall will get the first shot at being the featured back. According to Wilson, Mendenhall “has always been our lead dog and our top runner.”
Fantasy Impact: With that said, Mendenhall does not look likely to play in Week 10, especially with a much bigger game looming in Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens. Certainly keep an eye on reports out of practice, but expect Isaac Redman and Jonathan Dwyer to handle the rushing load against the Chiefs. Mendenhall is clearly worth hanging onto for late-season production, however.
