Week 10 is here and it’s time again to rank the kickers. I am a believer that past performance is a good indicator of future success with kickers. So, here is the list of the top ten kickers YTD, as ranked by fantasy points per game:
Fantasy Football 2012: Kicker Rankings - Week 10
Which PK will kick you into the playoffs? Read here to find out!

Kicker (TEAM) | Fantasy Points per Game |
Lawrence Tynes (NYG) | 11.3/game |
Matt Bryant (ATL) | 10.3/game |
Stephen Gostkowski (NE) | 10.0/game |
Robbie Gould (CHI) | 9.3/game |
Sebastian Janikowski (OAK) | 8.9/game |
Jason Hanson (DET) | 8.8/game |
Shaun Suisham (PIT) | 8.6/game |
Blair Walsh (MIN) | 8.4/game |
Shayne Graham (HOU) | 8.4/game |
Justin Tucker (BAL) | 8.1/game |
You’ll notice that “everyone’s” #1 kicker in the preseason (David Akers) isn’t even in the Top 10 (he’s 14th this week). So, once again, please people, stop drafting kickers before your last pick.
Fantasy Points Against is a measure of the average number of fantasy points allowed by an opposing team, year-to-date. Although, I think this stat is most important for running backs and quarterbacks, the ranking of the kicker data may show us which defenses are most susceptible to kicker scoring. Those “bend but don’t break” squads that give up a lot of FG’s. These five teams are allowing the most fantasy points to kickers:
(1) TEN Titans (10.7)
(2) CAR Panthers (10.5)
(3) OAK Raiders (9.9)
(4) KC Chiefs (9.8)
(5) BAL Ravens (9.8)
Here are our Sweet Sixteen rankings:
Rank | Player (TEAM) |
1 | Lawrence Tynes (NYG) |
2 | Stephen Gostkowski (NE) |
3 | David Akers (SF) |
4 | Sebastian Janikowski (OAK) |
5 | Matt Bryant (ATL) |
6 | Robbie Gould (CHI) |
7 | Shaun Suisham (PIT) |
8 | Justin Tucker (BAL) |
9 | Dan Bailey (DAL) |
10 | Matt Prater (DEN) |
11 | Jason Hanson (DET) |
12 | Adam Vinatieri (IND) |
13 | Garrett Hartley (NO) |
14 | Dan Carpenter (MIA) |
15 | Alex Henery (PHI) |
