Notes:
Fantasy Football 2012, Week 15: Tight End Rankings
In my Week 15 rankings, I highlighted the fact that Brandon Myers is slightly overrated, Vernon Davis and Antonio Gates were unplayable, and Martellus Bennett is a solid starting option. These tidbits may have kept you alive in your league’s fantasy playoff race. Make sure to check out this week’s TE rankings and read your way to fantasy dominance!

- I highlighted last week that fantasy owners should look elsewhere if they have Vernon Davis on their roster. With that being said, I think Davis could make for a sneaky play this week against the Patriots. The fact is that the Niners defense hasnt played as well of late, and the Patriots will be putting up points in this one. Also, The Patriots have been stout against the run, and a ground and pound approach for the Niners will not likely be successful. With the Niners looking to go to the air, Davis is the 49er that stands the most to gain. He is the one pass catcher that will present a matchup problem for the Patriots defense. While he is still a far cry from being an elite option, he should put up startable numbers this week.
- I have been down on Heath Miller for the last few weeks yet he hasnt had fewer then 5 catches in any of the last 3 games. Imagine what he will do now that Big Ben is fully back, and the Steelers are in a must win situation. Miller is back into that 4-7 range and is a must play in almost any format.
- Keep your eye on the Brandon Pettigrew injury news. If he is unable to go this week or is very limited, I think it boosts Tony Scheffler up into top 10 territory. My ranking for Scheffler will be under the assumption that Pettigrew will be limited.
- Dallas is going to have an air show this week. I dont see them being able to have much success running against the Steelers, and the impact will be Tony Romo dropping back to pass on almost every play. Jason Witten is primed for a huge game, especially with Dez Bryant either out or limited due to injury. I think this is a week that Witten could see 8+ catches.
- Jermichael Finley? Who knows? I give up with him...... Anybody who follows my rankings knows that I have been all over the map with this guy. I started off the season thinking he would be a top 5 guy, and then about midseason I dropped him out of the top 12, only to recently move him back up again. Just too much of a question mark. I would try to stay away from him in the playoffs and go with a safer option even if the ceiling isnt as high.
