Hilton’s TD came on a post pattern for a 61-yard TD and he was wide open. He was so open that no other Texan was even on the screen once Luck hit him for the longest play of Luck’s career.
Hilton entered today with 41 catches for 638 yards and five TDs. The rookie has been trending upward with two 100-yard games in his last four contests. He doesn’t run a full array of routes and he’s been more of a Mike Wallace-type player at this earlier stage in his career by stretching the field. It suites him, though, and he’s been able to get open down the field.
Hilton is shaping up to be a strong WR3 next week against the soft Chiefs secondary.
