Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin said turnovers and a one-dimensional offense caused his worst fantasy football day of the season. Martin finished with just 16 yards on nine carries against the New Orleans Saints, who came into the game with statistically one of the worst rushing defenses in the NFL.

Martin said on Sunday (via The Tampa Bay Times) that the game got away from Tampa Bay, which trailed 24-0 at halftime. That deficit forced the Buccaneers into passing mode instead of using their steady running game. Tampa Bay takes on the St. Louis Rams in Week 16.
Fantasy Impact: This was a big fantasy bust for Martin owners, who had to be thrilled about the matchup heading into Week 15. Martin has been getting roughly 20 carries a game and should have been able to produce good numbers against New Orleans.
Martin remains a No. 1 fantasy running back for Week 16 but Sunday’s effort will not inspire a lot of confidence.
