San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh was forced to give another vote of confidence to his struggling kicker. At his Monday presser, Harbaugh confirmed that K David Akers will remain the starter.
David Akers to remain starting kicker, fantasy value remains low
The 49ers are sticking with David Akers despite his struggles. We break down the fantasy implications.

The 38-year-old veteran has fallen off the cliff this season. He missed yet another field goal against the Patriots on Sunday night and is now just 25-for-35 on the season, a poor 71% rate.
Fantasy Impact: After making 7-of-9 field goals from 50+ yards out last season, Akers has made only 1-of-5 this year, and his leg just isn’t there anymore. Fantasy owners should have moved on weeks ago.
The Niners, like the Packers, are going into the playoffs with a big kicking problem that could come back to haunt them in January.
