Fantasy Football Rankings, Week 16: Quarterbacks

Time to bring the money and the trophy home, so check out our Week 16 fantasy quarterback rankings.

Stephen Dunn

Russell Wilson had a super game against the Bills. Hopefully, that was either a lot of help to you or didn't effect your matchup at all. After not rushing for a touchdown all season, Wilson found the end zone three times. He added to that 205 yards passing, a passing touchdown and 92 rushing yards. It was almost an unbelievable decision when the Seahawks chose Wilson to be their starter. Things were a little rough at the start of the season but he's really come into his own over the last few games. Wilson has a very tough matchup against the 49ers this week, so our expectations should be tempered.

Sam Bradford was able to pass for a season-high 377 yards, three touchdowns and a two-point conversion. That also resulted in a season-high twenty-seven fantasy points. A game like this shows the potential that Bradford has when called upon to pass fifty-five times and the offense leans towards the pass. If the Rams add a few more pieces along the offensive line and maybe a veteran receiver, Bradford could pass for close to 4000 yards and twenty-five touchdowns in 2013.

It was great to finally have most of the highly drafted fantasy quarterbacks score some high point totals all in the same week. Drew Brees threw for 307 yards and four touchdowns. He took advantage of the poor Buccaneers pass defense and scorched them for an awesome afternoon. Tom Brady finished Sunday night with a strong showing after starting off slow. He threw for 443 yards, a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown. Aaron Rodgers was able to beat the Bears for three passing touchdowns and 291 yards. Amazingly, that was his highest total for passing yards since Week 7.

Championship week or semi-final week, here are your top five fantasy quarterback must-starts:

1. Cam Newton vs. Oakland - Newton has been on a hot streak over his last five games and that should continue this week against the Raiders. They will probably be unable to stop him on the ground or through the air. He has now thrown for thirteen touchdowns and no interceptions over his last five games.

2. Drew Brees at Dallas - Brees rebounded with a great game against the worst pass defense in the league. Next up is the difficult Cowboys secondary. You have to roll with Brees though, it doesn't matter if its the best defense or the worst defense, when he's on his game it's almost impossible to stop him.

3. Tom Brady at Jacksonville - It almost looked like a disastrous game for Brady on Sunday night but once he got the offense into a rhythm, they were pretty unstoppable. His matchup this week is very sweet, as they travel to face the two win Jaguars. Brady should have a great game for your fantasy team.

4. Peyton Manning vs. Cleveland - Manning had a season low 204 passing yards against the Ravens but that was more because of the Broncos dominating than Peyton being held in check. He faces the Browns this week and they just gave up over 300 yards passing and two touchdowns to a rookie in his first start.

5. Aaron Rodgers vs. Tennessee - He injured his ankle against the Bears but will be fine to start this upcoming weekend. Rodgers hasn't passed for over 300 yards since Week 7 but should be able to raise his game against the Titans at home.

My predictions for sleeper quarterbacks for Week 16:

Sam Bradford, Rams - Bradford is facing a Buccaneers defense that is giving up over 300 yards passing per game. If you’re in need for quarterback help, Bradford should be at the top of your list.

Ryan Tannehill, Dolphins - He didn't play that great against the Bills in their last matchup but I think this time around will be different. For two reasons, he's playing in his last home game of the season and the Dolphins still cling to the slimmest of playoff hopes.

Chad Henne, Jaguars - Henne and the Jaguars will no doubt be playing from behind against the Patriots, so expect a lot of passing to try and stay in the game.

Nick Foles, Eagles - Foles did not fare well in his first game against the Redskins but should be able to post a better game the second time around. The Redskins are second last in pass defense and Foles should take advantage of them through the air.
