Washington Redskins head coach told Philadelphia reporters that he expects his rookie quarterback, Robert Griffin III, to play this Sunday against the Eagles. Griffin (knee) missed his first career start in Week 15 and backup rookie Kirk Cousins helped lead Washington to a 38-21 victory over the Browns.
Robert Griffin III injury update: Mike Shanahan expects him to return, fantasy owners hope so too
After previously stating himself that he expected to play, the Redskins head coach agreed with Griffin. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Redskins top pick, Griffin suffered the injury in an overtime win over the Ravens the previous week. It would appear that barring any unforeseen setbacks, that RG3 will return after just one missed start.
Fantasy Take: Despite a playoff push, the Redskins have shown that they can win football games with Cousins, so you should not expect RG3 to be at less than 100% if he starts. There is no reason to rush such a valuable commodity back before he is ready.
Griffin has only two touchdowns in his last two games but the Eagles are bad at defense, ranking 26th in the NFL in points allowed. He’s a low-end QB1, but absolutely worth a start.
