The New York Jets may be looking to trade Mark Sanchez and/or Tim Tebow to give the franchise a fresh start at quarterback, according to Rich Cimini at ESPN New York. The Jets signed Sanchez to a contract extension in March, but may be willing to eat a big salary cap hit to get rid of the quarterback. Meanwhile, Tebow is reportedly upset that Greg McElroy was named the Jets' starting quarterback for Week 16 against the San Diego Chargers.
Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow trade rumors: Can fantasy value be salvaged elsewhere?
The Jets are exploring their options with regards to trading Mark Sanchez or Tim Tebow for a fresh start at quarterback. We break down the fantasy implications.

Both players have struggled to do much of anything this season. Sanchez had 17 interceptions to 13 touchdowns, including seven interceptions to one touchdown pass over his last three games. Tebow saw spot duty at quarterback throughout the season, though he never played a significant role. On the year, he is 6-for-8 passing for 39 yards, and has 32 carries for 102 yards.
Fantasy impact: Could either quarterback see his fantasy value increase with a change of scenery? It’s possible, especially in Tebow’s case. He had the potential to be a big red zone scoring machine in the Jets offense, even playing limited snaps. As a starter, his chances would increase significantly.
As for Sanchez, it wouldn’t hurt to have a better supporting cast somewhere else (as just about any other franchise would). That said, the way his play and self-confidence deteriorated this season shouldn’t inspire much optimism for his long-term fantasy prospects.
