Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson said Thursday that he's headed into this weekend's game with the mindset he can break Eric Dickerson's rushing record in one day. Peterson has 1,812 yards heading into Week 16 against the Houston Texans and will need to average 147 yards over the next two games to break the record of 2,105 set back in 1984.
Adrian Peterson: Mindset is to break record this weekend; fantasy owners encouraged
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson said Thursday that he’s headed into this weekend’s game with the mindset to break Eric Dickerson’s rushing record.

Peterson ran for a season best 212 yards in Week 15 but even another effort like that against the Texans would leave him 81 yards short of equaling Dickerson.
Fantasy Impact: The way Peterson has returned from injury this season fantasy owners shouldn’t be surprised with anything he does. Fantasy owners shouldn’t expect nearly 300 yards from Peterson but they have to love that mentality with fantasy titles on the line.
Peterson is a must-start running back in all formats for Week 16.
