San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis (concussion) received clearance from an independent neurologist to resume non-contact drills on Thursday. Davis took a vicious hit from safety Kam Chancellor in the 49ers 42-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night.
Vernon Davis concussion: Gains clearance for non-contact activity, fantasy value still low
The San Francisco tight end takes a step in the right direction. We break down the fantasy implications.

The hit forced Davis out for the rest of the game and put his status for Week 17 against the Arizona Cardinals in jeopardy.
The 49ers need to beat the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday to ensure their NFC West title and keep their hopes of a number two seed alive. The Packers would need to lose for San Francisco to win the #2 seed, and since Green Bay plays in the morning and the 49ers in the afternoon, Jim Harbaugh should know his teams fate in that regard. They would probably err towards caution with their starting tight end in any event as they head into the playoffs.
Fantasy Take: Davis is not all that productive this year and has not clicked with Colin Kaepernick. All things considered, he would not be a very good fantasy play in Week 17.
