Steve Smith is expected to play Sunday when the Carolina Panthers take on the New Orleans Saints. Smith missed practice Wednesday to rest, but was able to return to practice as a full participant on Thursday and Friday. The veteran wideout has yet to miss a game this season.
Steve Smith injury update: Fantasy status should be of no concern
Steve Smith is expected to suit up for the Panthers against the Saints on Sunday. He was given a day off to rest early in the week, but was able to return to practice as a full participant. We break down the fantasy implications.

Smith has caught a touchdown in three of his last four games, and has gone over 100 yards receiving twice over that span. He has been targeted 38 times over the course of his last four outings.
Fantasy Impact: Smith should be a safe fantasy play this week. The Panthers don’t have anything play for at this point, having been eliminated from the playoffs. While they won’t have any extra motivation, they also won’t be resting starters in hopes of a deep postseason run. He should be a solid WR1/WR2, as he has been all season.
