According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the Packers are moving to sign veteran RB Cedric Benson. The move comes on the heels of James Stark's disappointing performance Thursday, in which he lost a fumble and dropped one pass. Financial terms of the deal have not been released yet.
Packers To Sign RB Cedric Benson: Fantasy Implications
The Packers are adding RB Cedric Benson to help their running game. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: This move clearly shows the Packers have little faith in either Starks or backup Alex Green to boost their run game (ranked 27th in 2011). Starks in particular was looking "ordinary" before his poor showing against the Chargers. Benson has a lot of mileage for a 29-year-old, but he can still contribute on 3rd downs and kill the clock for the Packers' lethal passing attack. As far as fantasy value goes, what you see is pretty much what you get - 1,000 yards or so, 5-7 TDs and poor yards per carry. You could do worse as a fantasy backup, but you could also do a lot better.
