The Cincinnati Bengals' preseason opener versus the New York Jets has been riddled with injuries. In the first quarter alone LG Travelle Wharton was carted off with a knee injury, MLB Rey Maualuga was helped off the field with another knee injury and DE Carlos Dunlap left with yet another knee injury. Later in the 2nd quarter, S Taylor Mays left after taking a hit to the head. None of the four are expected to play again tonight.

Analysis: It’s too early to gauge the severity of these injuries - Wharton helped himself onto the cart and Dunlap walked off under his own power - but it never bodes well when a team suffers this many injuries in such a short span of time, particularly in the preseason, where avoiding injuries is one of the biggest goals.
