Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmur told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that he's considering playing the starters as late as the third quarter in Thursday's game against Green Bay. "The guys that line up this week with the first group, we'll try to get them about a half of play, and we'll see and evaluate from there at halftime". Shurmur's reasoning is that the Browns' third preseason game, traditionally the "dress rehearsal" game across the league, is against the Philadelphia Eagles, their Week 1 regular season opponent.

Analysis: This obviously means more game time for rookie QB Brandon Weeden, who had an up-and-down debut on Friday (3 for 9, 62 yards, 1 INT) and could use more reps against opponents who actually get to hit him. He's clearly a work in progress, and fantasy owners should probably pass on him for 2012.
