New York Jets coach Rex Ryan does not expect receiver Santonio Holmes, who is suffering from a rib injury, to miss the team's season opener against the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 9, according to Tim Graham on Twitter. Holmes missed the Jets' first preseason game and is not expected to be in the lineup against the Giants on Saturday night. While Holmes has begun participating in individual drills at practice, he has not resumed team drills yet.
Santonio Holmes Should Be Ready for Jets Season Opener: Fantasy Implications
Jets head coach Rex Ryan says he doesn’t expect receiver Santonio Holmes to miss the team’s regular season opener. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: The Jets' quarterback situation makes Santonio Holmes a dicey fantasy prospect to begin with, and his injury certainly doesn't help his cause. Whether Mark Sanchez or Tim Tebow is under center, Holmes won't have the benefit of a top notch quarterback throwing him the ball. It would be nice to see him get some preseason reps before drafting him as a starting fantasy receiver.
