Roy Helu has Achilles tendonitis, Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan revealed Monday. It's unclear what kind of effect the issue will have on the running back's short-term or long-term playing status. Shanahan did not sound overly concerned about the injury.
Roy Helu Diagnosed With Achilles Tendonitis: Fantasy Implications
Roy Helu has Achilles tendonitis, Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan revealed Monday. We break down the fantasy implications.

“He’s got a little Achilles tendonitis,” Shanahan said. “He’s had that before. Hopefully it’s not too serious so we can get him back to normal.”
Analysis: ESPN's Dan Graziano made it seem like Helu's situation may be worse than the Redskins are letting on. The coaches clearly believe in the young running back, but he has not been able to stay healthy. Unfortunately for him, Evan Royster and Alfred Morris have been performing well in camp and Tim Hightower still has some gas left in the tank. The less time Helu spends in practice, the further he is going to slide down draft boards.
