Cedric Benson Will Not Play Packers Preseason Game Thursday: Fantasy Implications
Cedric Benson will not play Thursday against the Cleveland Browns, most likely so he can get acclimated to his recent signing with the Green Bay Packers. With Benson out, the running back corps could be severely shorthanded due to a recent rash of injuries.

Analysis: It's nice that the Packers are giving Benson some time to get his feet underneath him after signing with the team Sunday. It's surprising that they can even afford the luxury how banged up the running back stable is. James Starks is week-to-week with turf toe, Brandon Saine is dealing with a lingering hamstring injury, and fullback John Kuhn suffered an ankle sprain Monday. The Packers could theoretically be down to second-year Alex Green, and rookies Marc Tyler and Duane Bennett against the Browns.
