Analysis: Johnson reportedly could have played in the team’s preseason opener, but both he and Kubiak decided that he hadn’t had enough reps in practice. Expect the coaching staff to keep the kid gloves on until the start of the regular season. The Texans need Johnson desperately, especially considering what the rest of the depth chart looks like at wideout. There is nothing Johnson can prove with a full slate of reps at this point. Oh, and he is still one of the top WR1 options available assuming he can stay on the field.
