Analysis: It’s doubtful that opposing defenses will adhere to the same rules once Peterson returns to game action, but it is encouraging for him to be back on the field after such a serious injury last season. Minnesota will take every precaution it can with Peterson, despite his objections as he will be a key piece to the offense. Peterson probably isn’t a No. 1 fantasy back right now but could be an above-average contributor if he proves he is healthy. Keep an eye on his condition as the season approaches.
