The Seattle Seahawks are reportedly trying to trade QB Tarvaris Jackson. Pro Football Talk, citing a source with knowledge of the situation, says Seattle in in talks with a couple of teams, and that a deal could happen. Jackson has been a three-way battle with Matt Flynn and Russell Wilson for the starting job and now appears to be the odd man out. The report does not name specific teams and suggests that trading him could be difficult because his is set to earn a base salary of $4 million in 2012.

Analysis: All this does is add clarity to Seattle’s quarterback situation. Coach Pete Carroll said earlier this week that Jackson wouldn’t play against Denver on Saturday. Flynn is expected to start and Wilson is scheduled to play the second half. If Jackson is traded, there is no reason to draft him.
