Detroit Lions RB Jahvid Best is likely to start the season on the PUP list, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. If this happens, Best would miss at least the first six games of the regular season. Best has had trouble with concussions and has not been cleared to play.
Lions RB Jahvid Best Likely to Start Season on PUP List: Fantasy Implications
Report: Lions RB Jahvid Best is likely to start the season on the PUP list. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: Detroit's backfield situation is not in great shape to begin with and being without Best for at least six weeks would be tough. Veteran Kevin Smith is at the top of the list right now and Mikel Leshoure should add some depth once he returns from his two-game suspension to open the regular season. No matter who gets the job, these are not strong fantasy options and should probably be avoided until this gets sorted out. Don't be surprised if the Lions sign another veteran back to add some depth to the roster.
