Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill has reportedly looked sharper in practice, finally catching up to head coach Joe Philbin's fast-pace way of running things. As detailed on HBO's Hard Knocks, Philbin is having his players run twice as many plays as usual in order to get more done in a shorter amount of time as they deal with Miami's heat. Philbin has said that there is a good possibility that Tannehill will play against the Panthers first-team defense on Friday, meaning that he could get into the game in the first quarter.

Fantasy Implications: With David Garrard back on the rehab trail, it's down to just Tannehill and Matt Moore to be the starter in week one. One would think that Moore would have the inside track after having a successful 2011 campaign, but a new coach and new scheme may not fit very well with Moore, a player that had three 3-TD games last season. The word on Tannehill going into the draft was "raw" or "project" but right now it seems like he has a much better chance of opening the season as starter than expected. However, after watching Blaine Gabbert last season, I wouldn't keep my expectations on his production very high as a rookie. Especially after the release of Chad Johnson, leaving the Dolphins with few proven wide receivers.
