Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera has said that the team will select it's kicker within the next two week, per the official Panthers twitter feed. Veteran Olindo Mare is battling former CFL kicker Justin Medlock for the job.
Panthers Will Select Kicker Within Two Weeks: Fantasy Implications
The Panthers are in the middle of a kicking competition. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Implications: Mare hit a league-leading 39 of 46 field goal attempts for the Dolphins in 1999, but has been more of a middle-of-the-road option since then, and was just 6 of 9 from 30-39 yards for Carolina last season. Medlock is said to have had the stronger leg of the two, but left a kick 10 yards short of the end zone against the Texans on Saturday, and the kick was returned for a touchdown by the Texans Trindon Holliday. Kickers are always interchangeable in fantasy, but the Panthers were fifth in scoring last season and if they continue to struggle in the red zone, it could mean a lot of points for the winner of this particular job.
