New England Patriots RB Stevan Ridley left practice Thursday with an apparent leg injury, reports Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston. The injury didn't seem serious, as Ridley watched the rest of practice from the sidelines and did balance tests with trainer Jim Whalen.
RB Stevan Ridley Leaves Patriots’ Practice With Leg Injury: Fantasy Implications
Patriots RB Stevan Ridley left practice with a leg injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: With Benjaruvs Green-Ellis departing in free agency and Danny Woodhead's role being reduced to special teams, Ridley is in a fight with Shane Vereen for the majority of carries with the Patriots. So far, he doesn't seem to be winning that battle, with Vereen having an impressive preseason opener and getting more first-team reps in training camp. As for fantasy purposes, I don't anticipate a breakout from either player - the Patriots don't use a traditional #1 RB (or much of a running game at all), but assuming Ridley's leg injury doesn't sideline him for long, he could steal enough red zone TDs to be a serviceable RB3.
