Cowboys tight end Jason Witten has already been ruled out for the next two preseason games with a lacerated spleen and is not likely to return before the season opens against the Giants on September 5th, but he believes he'll be out there. "I'm just going to take it a day at a time. Obviously, I'd be hard-pressed to imagine not being out there against the Giants. But there's no timetable right now," said Witten. He has missed only one game in his nine-year career and has missed only two starts since his 2003 rookie season.

Fantasy Implications: Witten, still only 30-years-old, is one of the most consistent tight ends in NFL history. He never misses a game and has usually sat right around 80-90 catches and 1000 yards every season. He has never really had that one very explosive season like we've seen from Jimmy Graham or Rob Gronkowski, but he's as dependable as they come. This spleen injury is unusual, however, and it's hard to know what to expect. Especially since Witten isn't really sure what to expect after staying so healthy in his career.
