John Skelton is expected to work with the Cardinals' starters in Thursday night's preseason game against the Titans and will play into the second half, according to the Arizona Republic. Skelton has been locked in a quarterback competition with Kevin Kolb throughout the preseason. By Kent Somers' count, Skelton has played 33 snaps to Kolb's 31. While coach Ken Whisenhunt did not say this was an indication that Skelton has won the job, he does want to get an extended look at the second-year quarterback working with the first team.
John Skelton Expected to Play Into the Second Half on Thursday: Fantasy Implications
John Skelton is expected to work with the Cardinals’ starters in Thursday night’s preseason game against the Titans and will play into the second half. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: John Skelton has outplayed Kevin Kolb in every facet this preseason, and did so in 2011 as well. The Cardinals would be wise to cut their losses with Kolb and play the better quarterback. Skelton has some upside as a backup if he wins the job, given the weapons in Arizona's offense. Larry Fitzgerald's fantasy value also goes up if Skelton is named the starter. Fitzgerald was more productive with Skelton under center in 2011 than he was with Kolb throwing him the ball.
