The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Michael Vick is expected to be ready for the Philadelphia Eagles' season opener after tests revealed no broken bones or fractured cartilage. Vick is unlikely to play in either of Philadelphia's final two preseason games. Vick left Monday's game in the first quarter after being hit on his left side. The Eagles play the Cleveland Browns on Friday and finish the preseason Aug. 30 against the New York Jets.
Michael Vick Expected To Be Ready For Week 1: Fantasy Implications
Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is expected to be ready for the team’s season opener. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: Vick appears to have dodged another injury, but fantasy owners have to be wary about counting on him for a full season. Vick suffered rib injuries in 2010 and 2011, and missed games in both campaigns because of the injuries. If he is healthy, he is still a good start in most weeks, but “if he is healthy” is becoming a big caveat. Make sure there is a backup plan in place.
