Trent Richardson resumed running in water on Wednesday and might be able to run outside next week, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Richardson underwent arthroscopic knee surgery back on August 9, but the team expected the No. 3 overall pick to be ready for the season opener. Montario Hardesty and Brandon Jackson will be splitting time in the Browns' backfield while Richardson recovers. Cleveland opens the season on Sept. 9 against Philadelphia.
Trent Richardson Running In Water, Could Run Outside By Next Week: Fantasy Implications
Trent Richardson resumed running in water on Wednesday and might be able to run outside next week. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: Trent Richardson, once considered a late first-round fantasy option, is now a huge risk anywhere in the first three rounds. The biggest thing working in Richardson’s favor was his potential workload, but his injury will definitely eat into his workload. Hardesty has played well in Richardson’s absence and Jackson is useful out of the backfield. Richardson will likely be eased back into the lineup and runs the risk of re-injury. Buyer beware.
