The Jets would have to give up too much to pull off the trade and would also be saddled with a running back looking for a new contract. That combination has created a price tag the Jets are unwilling to meet, apparently.

Analysis: Maurice Jones-Drew is in a tough place at this point. The Jaguars are unwilling to cave to his contract demands, as the star running back still has two years remaining on his deal. Jones-Drew said he would be open to a trade, but the Jaguars aren't likely to cave to that demand either, unless they are blown away by an offer. At this point, it doesn't seem that any team is going to overwhelm Jacksonville enough to land MJD on a new team in 2012. He'll either have to show up and play or sit out and continue to lose money. For fantasy owners, this is a waiting game. It's tough to invest a first or second round pick in MJD until he reports.
