Mike Wallace will be up to speed with the Pittsburgh Steelers' offense when he finally returns to the team, according to Ben Roethlisberger. Wallace hasn't taken any reps under new offensive coordinator Todd Haley, but he did have a copy of the playbook with him while he was working out on his own in Orlando, Fla. The wideout won't be able to practice Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday due to stipulations in the collective bargaining agreement, and has to be considered questionable for Saturday's preseason game against the Buffalo Bills.

“I guess it could be a little bit of a challenge. But if he’s putting the work in that I think and he’s telling me he’s doing, he’ll be fine,” Roethlisberger said. “He’s been working out and working, not just on his conditioning and his strength, but working also on the offense.”
Analysis: The biggest question surrounding Wallace is just how much ground he has lost to Antonio Brown within the offense at this point. Brown stole a ton of targets over the second half of the season, and has to have built up a fair amount of goodwill for signing a contract and participating in training camp. Wallace brings a skill set that few in the league can replicate, but if he is relegated to just catching deep balls he is going to be a frustrating week-by-week option for a lot of fantasy owners.
