Wayne Hunter has been benched as the starting right tackle for the New York Jets, head coach Rex Ryan told reporters Thursday. Hunter has had an awful training camp and preseason, which came to a head this past weekend against the New York Giants. The veteran lineman gave up four sacks in the first half alone, and had his ineptitude shared to the world in GIF form. Austin Howard, a third-year undrafted player cut by the Phildelphia Eagles and the Baltimore Ravens, is now set to take over the starting job.
Wayne Hunter Benched As Jets Starting Right Tackle: Fantasy Implications
Wayne Hunter has been benched as the starting right tackle for the Jets. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: Normally one weak spot on the offensive line isn't enough to downgrade an entire offense's worth of skill players, but Hunter was that bad Saturday. Shonn Greene and Bilal Powell averaged just 3.3 and 3.5 yards per carry, but perhaps more importantly Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow were sacked a combined seven times. Ryan said that the Jets aren't currently looking at bringing in another lineman, though that could change. Until then approach Jets' skill players with even more skepticism than you have been.
