Green Bay Packers running back Cedric Benson is putting himself into position to be the team's Week 1 starter. Cedric Benson In Position To Be Packers Week 1 Starter: Fantasy Implications
Green Bay Packers running back Cedric Benson is putting himself in position to be the team’s Week 1 starter. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: Benson running the football could be a welcome site for the Packers, who have been looking for improvement during the preseason. James Starks is still out with a turf toe injury and Benson appears to have already moved ahead of Alex Green. Green Bay's offense isn't set up for a running back to get 20 or 25 carries a game, but Benson should get his chances while Starks is out of the lineup. For now, fantasy owners should treat him as a fringe No. 3 back on draft day.
