New England Patriots RB Stevan Ridley has spent most of camp locked in a battle with Shane Vereen to replace BenJarvus Green-Ellis as the primary ball carrier. After Friday's 30-27 loss to the Bucs, it appears Ridlley has a leg up on the position, gaining 87 yards on 16 carries while Vereen left the game with a foot injury after just two carries for -3 yards.
Stevan Ridley Running Away With Starting RB Job: Fantasy Implications
Stevan Ridley has put himself in position for the Pats RB job after an impressive Friday game. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: Vereen is better than his August performance would have you believe, but his durability continues to be a concern, and the addition of Jeff Demps further muddies the pecking order at RB. Meanwhile, Ridley has proven himself to be the Pats back to draft in fantasy. New England is hardly a run-first team, so don't expect Ridley to be anything more than a decent RB2, but he should get plenty of red zone touches and vulture enough goal-line TDs to be an asset.
