Indianapolis Colts WR Donnie Avery got his first preseason action of the year Saturday, lining up as the No. 2 WR with Austin Collie (concussion) out indefinitely. Avery made the most of his chances, hauling in six catches on seven targets for 38 yards. He mostly stayed in underneath routes and proved to be a handy safety valve for Andrew Luck.
Donnie Avery Steps Up In Austin Collie’s Place: Fantasy Implications
Donnie Avery got some time in the Colts No. 2 WR position and had a nice game Saturday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: With Collie's status up in the air, it's suddenly an open race for the Colts No. 2 spot opposite Reggie Wayne. Avery will be fighting for time with rookie LaVon Brazill, who has been earning first-team reps and got 2 catches for 18 yards. Avery will also be fighting the injury bug - he's never been able to stay healthy in his four-year career and his latest hip injury could flare up at any time, suppressing his potential as a deep threat WR3. Don't jump to draft either guy for now, but keep monitoring this situation.
