Detroit Lions running back Kevin Smith injured his ankle during Saturday night's preseason game against the Oakland Raiders, but the injury is not going to keep him off the field, according to the Detroit News. Smith has suffered from ankle injuries in the past, so he had Lions' fans holding their breathe when he went down. He said he was worried about it being another high-ankle sprain, but it turned out to be just a twisted ankle. The Lions also avoided another scare, as Matthew Stafford, who left the game with a hand injury, will not miss time either.
Kevin Smith Ankle Injury Not Severe: Fantasy Implications
Detroit Lions running back Kevin Smith injured his ankle during Saturday night’s preseason game against the Oakland Raiders, but the injury is not going to keep him off the field. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: Kevin Smith appears to be the favorite to get the lion’s share of the carries in Detroit. Any running back in that potent of an offense is worth drafting . Smith should serve as a third running back for fantasy owners while healthy. That being said, he is a huge injury risk based on his history. I wouldn’t touch him in the first seven rounds.
