Kicker Neil Rackers has been released by the Washington Redskins, The Washington Post reports. The veteran was signed to challenge Graham Gano for the job. Rackers made a field goal from inside 30 yards and missed a 54-yarder in his only two preseason attempts for Washington. Gano has yet to attempt a field goal in the preseason.
Redskins Cut K Neil Rackers: Fantasy Implications
Veteran placekicker Neil Rackers has been released by The Washington Redskins. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: Reports out of Redskins camp had the competition being fairly close, so it’s somewhat surprising that Rackers was released at this point in the preseason. As far as fantasy owners are concerned, there is no reason to go out of the way to draft Washington’s kicker. Several other kickers have also been released and so the job still may not be Gano’s to keep. It’s also not clear how dynamic Washington’s offense will be at this point. This is a position for fantasy owners to revisit once bye weeks begin.
