There are concerns about Josh Freeman's accuracy within the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization, Ira Kaufman of The Tampa Tribune reports. Kaufman, however, says that the team will give Freeman every chance to succeed before deciding whether to give him a long-term contract. Tampa Bay opens the regular season Sept. 9 against the Carolina Panthers.
Accuracy Concerns Could Hurt Josh Freeman’s Fantasy Value
There are reportedly concerns about Josh Freeman’s accuracy within the Tampa Bay organization heading into the season-opener against Carolina. We break down the fantasy implications.
Analysis: Freeman is a No. 2 fantasy quarterback and there is no reason for fantasy owners to invest too much in him at this point. The fact that there are accuracy concerns shouldn’t be too much of a surprise considering his 22 interceptions last season. New coach Greg Schiano is expected to bring a run-first offense to Tampa Bay and that could limit Freeman’s attempts. Freeman probably isn’t as good as he was in 2010 when he threw 25 touchdowns and just six interceptions, but isn’t as bad as he was last year either.
