The Detroit Lions have made the move many expected them to on Monday, placing RB Jahvid Best (concussions) on the physically unable to perform list, making him ineligible for games or practice until Week 8 at the earliest. Best has been slow to recover from the concussion that ended his 2011 season back in October, and there's still no clear timetable for his return.
Jahvid Best’s Fantasy Value Plummets After Being Put on PUP
The Lions have put Jahvid Best on the PUP, canning half of his season and putting the other half in doubt. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: At this point, it will be a surprise if Best takes a single snap in the 2012 season - he has a history of concussions that date back to his Cal days. It's a tough break for the kid, who's a dynamite playmaker when healthy, but his recent head injuries put his career in serious jeopardy. Needless to say, don't draft Best. Kevin Smith will be seeing the majority of carries for now, so look for him as a late-round flier.
