With one more preseason game to go, the Washington Redskins' running back situation is still too close to call. The latest news comes courtesy of the Washington Post, where coach Mike Shanahan confirmed that Evan Royster will play in the preseason finale against the Tampa Bay Bucs. Royster was penciled in as the regular season starter before his knee flared up last week while rookie Alfred Morris exploded with 107 yards on 14 carries against the Colts.

Analysis: Complicating things further are the status of Tim Hightower (still feeling soreness from his surgically repaired knee) and Roy Helu (has been off-and-on in practice with sore Achilles tendons), on top of the fact that it's a Shanahan running game, and it's easy to be confused as a fantasy owner. For now, I'll say that Royster should make a decent late-round flier with Morris as the potential breakout waiver pickup, but that could all change in a matter of days. Stay tuned.
