Mike Wallace finally ended his months-long contract holdout from the Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday, returning to practice where he is expected to sign his $2.7 million tender offer from the team. Wallace was hoping to receive a long-term contract, but the Steelers refused to negotiate with the wide receiver as along as he wasn't practicing. The new collective bargaining agreement stipulates a three-day acclimation period after signing a contract, meaning Wallace won't be eligible to practice until after the Steelers' final preseason game on Thursday.

Analysis: Fantasy football owners can finally breathe a sigh of relief now that Wallace is back in fold with the Steelers. Now the question becomes whether he will be able to get up-to-speed quickly enough to be a factor starting with the regular season opener on Sept. 9. He has to learn a brand new offense under coordinator Todd Haley, which may or may not be easy to do depending on who you ask. Wallace reportedly had the new playbook with him while he was working out in Florida, and the wideout maintains that he won’t miss a beat. We won’t see any proof until the opener, however.
