Alfred Morris will sit out the Washington Redskins' preseason finale Wednesday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Washington Post reports. Morris isn't suffering from any known injuries. More likely, the coaching staff simply wants to give the rookie running back the night off along with the rest of the Redskins' key players.
Alfred Morris To Sit Redskins Preseason Finale Wednesday: Fantasy Implications
Alfred Morris will be a healthy scratch for the Redskins’ preseason finale Wednesday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Analysis: As a sixth-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, no one would have been surprised if Morris was fighting to make the roster at this point in the preseason. Instead, the Redskins' coaches are resting him as if he is one of the team's most important players. Morris rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries last Saturday, and could start the season as the team's lead back with Roy Helu (Achilles'), Evan Royster (knee) and Tim Hightower (knee) all battling injuries to varying degrees.
