The Dallas Cowboys will release their 2012 fifth round pick, wide receiver Danny Coale, as announced on twitter per Josh Ellis. Coale played at Virginia Tech, where he had 60 catches for 904 yards as a senior with 13 punts. He spoke yesterday before the Cowboys final preseason game that this would be his last shot to show that he was worthy of a roster spot but finished the exhibition season with just one catch for nine yards. A stress fracture in his foot had slowed down his progress during training camp and he wasn't able to do enough to stay on the roster.

Fantasy Implications: While it would be a longshot for a fifth round rookie to contribute in fantasy, the Cowboys had a great opportunity for someone to step up and be this years Laurent Robinson, but Coale was unable to seize that chance and so he will be a free agent. This will open the door for Dwayne Harris, Kevin Ogletree, and Cole Beasley, all of whom finished the preseason with over 100 yards. Harris had 8 catches for 173 yards and 3 touchdowns, making him one to watch.
